Biography
Dr. Souvik Kundu has been a tenure-track assistant professor in the EE department at Cal Poly since Fall 2025. Prior to joining Cal Poly, he worked as a Product Engineer at Intel Corporation, Folsom, CA, USA for 6 years where he contributed towards test program development for validating analog IPs, pre-&; post- silicon verification and validation; yield engineering, data analysis.
Dr. Kundu holds a doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University in 2023 and double master's degree, with an M.Tech in VLSI and Microelectronics from Jadavpur University, India earned in 2014, and an M.S. in Microelectronics and Photonics from Iowa State University, obtained in 2019. Prior to these accomplishments, he completed his B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology, India, in 2011.
In addition to his educational qualifications, Dr. Kundu has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed articles, including journal papers, conference presentations, and book chapters related to: Biosensing, Photonics, Molecular Electronics, Data Analytics, Biometrics, Analog Circuit design. His works have garnered over 400 citations, with a h-index of 11. His active involvement in the academic community extends to his role as a reviewer for prestigious journals such as those published by IEEE, Springer, and Elsevier, where he helps to uphold the quality and integrity of scholarly publications.
Dr. Kundu's excellence has been recognized with several awards from Iowa State University. He received both the Research Excellence Award and the Teaching Excellence Award, highlighting his outstanding contributions to both research and education. His entrepreneurial spirit was also recognized through his success in university-level startup pitch competitions, where he demonstrated his ability to translate academic research into practical, innovative solutions.
