Biography

Mohammad Ghamari is an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at California Polytechnic State University. He earned his B.Eng. degree in Electronics and Communications from the University of Leeds, UK, in 2006, followed by an M.Sc. in Communications and Signal Processing from Newcastle University, UK, in 2007. He completed his Ph.D. in Communication Systems at Lancaster University, UK, in 2013. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Ghamari held postdoctoral research positions at the University of Reading, UK, the University of Texas at El Paso, Pennsylvania State University, and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.

In 2020, he joined Kettering University as an Assistant Professor, where he served for four years before joining Cal Poly. Dr. Ghamari’s research focuses on wearable electronics and embedded computing systems, particularly in the development of real-time health monitoring and diagnostic technologies. His work aims to address critical challenges in biomedical applications, enhancing the ability to monitor vital signs and detect health-related issues early, thereby improving patient outcomes.

Dr. Ghamari brings his extensive research experience into the classroom, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories in Embedded Systems. He is dedicated to advancing educational practices and integrating real-world applications into his teaching. Dr. Ghamari is also recognized as a Senior Member of the IEEE, reflecting his significant contributions to the field.
