Bio:

Professor Dehghan Banadaki received his BS in Electrical Engineering with a major in power systems from Shahed University, Tehran, Iran. He received his MS from Sharif University of Technology with the Power Electronics (and Electrical Machinery) concentration in 2011. He received his Ph.D. from West Virginia University in 2022. His research work was on modeling and controlling renewable energies. He joined CalPoly in 2018 where his teaching and research activities have been mainly focused on the power and energy area. He has been active in writing proposals, making collaborations with industries, advising students' projects/thesis, and bringing grants to the department. Two of his currently funded projects are:

• Distribution Reliability Analysis with SDGE
• Electric Bike Charging Stations by Wind Power Energy

Research Interests: 

• Microgrids Modeling, Control, and Protection
• Power simulations with Real-Time Digital Simulator (RTDS)
• Photo Voltaic Battery Energy Storage Systems (PV-BESS)
• Big Data Analytics application in Power Systems 
• Reliability analysis of distribution systems
