Eeonyx RF Absorber Testing

Eeonyx Corporation, Pinole, CA carried out absorber testing in Cal Poly’s Antenna Anechoic Chamber on March 5, 2014 on multiple absorber panels. Monostatic reflection and bistatic through S-parameter measurements over the 0.7 to 18 GHz range were recorded relative to flat metal plate and open circuit calibrations to compensate for chamber effects. The Eeonyx absorber panels serve as shielding solutions for EMI (electromagnetic interference) emissions problems in electronic systems.

Test measurements utilized new PE-P141 (Pasternack) low-loss 18GHz cables for maximum measurement resolution. Test procedures included a pair of SAS-571, 0.7 - 18GHz, dual ridge horn antennas rented from ATE Advanced Test Equipment Rentals (San Diego, CA) and test fixtures constructed by EE department personnel: see test setup (attached picture).
