AeroMech Engineering, Inc., San Luis Obispo, CA conducted radiation pattern testing on an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) antenna system in Cal Poly's Antenna Anechoic Chamber on April 21 and 22, 2010. Two blade dipole antenna designs mounted on two different ground plane structures were characterized for absolute gain and waterline radiation pattern scans at seven (7) roll angles using the chamber lab's network analyzer and positioner system. An experimental swept dipole was also characterized using E- and H-plane scans in addition to elevation scans at boresight and broadside directions to the UAV. A total of 34 pattern scans were recorded.
